Ishwar Chugani is the Managing Director of Giordano Middle East (FZE), heading the group's business in the Middle East, India, North Africa, Central Asia and Eastern Europe.

Giordano Middle East (FZE), is a 100 % subsidiary of Giordano International Hong Kong and provides strategic support, logistics, and management to Giordano's franchise partners across the region and is also responsible for Giordano's Global Expansion and Franchising across the Globe.

Chugani began his career in 1979 when he joined the ETA-ASCON Group, based in Dubai, UAE, to set-up Sindbad's Wonderland, the region's first indoor family entertainment centre.

In 1993 he negotiated and entered into an exclusive distributorship agreement and joint venture with Giordano International. Having played an integral role in the growth that Giordano currently enjoys in the region, Chugani has worked tirelessly to successfully expand the business from its original base in the U.A.E to numerous markets around the region.

In 2006, he was invited to join Giordano International's Management Committee, which is fully accountable to the Board for implementing its business strategies and day-to-day operations of the group's global business.

Giordano's success was also recognized by authorities. It was the first apparel retailer in the region to collect the Dubai Quality Appreciation Programme (DQAP) Award from the Government of Dubai in 2003, as part of the Dubai's Drive for Quality. Giordano also received "Best Service Performance Brand 2008-2009" by the Department of Economic Development in Dubai, as part of the Dubai Service Excellence Scheme.

Today, Giordano operates 240 stores in the region; with expansion plans to reach at least 250 stores by the end of 2015. Globally, the brand operates over 2750 stores in 40 countries.

Chugani is a founding member and Director of the Middle East Council of Shopping Centres and has over 35 years of retail and marketing experience in the region. He also serves as Member / Director of the Retail Business Group which is under the auspices of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce.

Chugani studied business management at De La Salle University in the Philippines, where he graduated with honours.
